During the track & field session, the kids will be learning the difference between a sprint and a long distance run, how to jump hurdles, run a relay race, and the running and standing long jump, plus many other exciting activities! These skills are taught in a fun, engaging, and non-competitive environment, all while developing important motor skills, learning the importance of teamwork, trying their best, and never giving up!
Each session Coaches will concentrate on one particular focus of the LIONHEART 12 PILLARS OF SPORTSMANSHIP. During each practice, coaches will incorporate the monthly focus into all of the games. These values are the cornerstone of the Lionheart program. Under these 12 pillars, (CONFIDENCE, RESPECT, KINDNESS, RESPONSIBILITY, THE POWER OF WORDS, DETERMINATION, POSITIVE THINKING, GRATEFULNESS, LOYALTY, HONESTY, LEADERSHIP, GENEROSITY) a Lionheart student will learn that a true athlete is someone who is kind and has respect for themselves as well as their peers.
